Consignments give both of us the opportunity to get the maximum amount of money for the product. With our consignments you set the minimum price you would like to receive for an item and we will adjust the price accordingly on our website, making sure you don't receive less than your minimum. Items on consignment must be valued at 25% over your minimum. This covers our commission and the cost of having an item appraised for fair market value or immediate liquidation. We will then set a time frame for the item to be sold and once that time is up you can either renew the contract lowering the price or we will return the item back to you within 15 business days. If your item sells, you will receive a check for your portion of the proceeds within 20 business days. This allows for any returns that may happen between the sale and payment.
Tentative contracts will be drawn up prior to a fair market appraisal. After the appraisal we will finalize our contract to include the appraised price and the time frame for the sale. Items can be shipped directly to us or you can arrange a time to drop them off. Fair market appraisals will either be done by us for sterling, junk jewelry, and trinkets, or by a jeweler for gold and diamond jewelry. If you already have an official jewelers fair market value appraisal we can consider that in lieu of our own appraisal. However, an insurance appraisal will not be accepted as we are not looking at replacement cost, but rather resale costs.
We have over 10 years experience in the resale business and have over 3 years experience in the consigment sale business. We are here to make money with you. There is a non-refundable $25.00 consignment deposit for the first 5 items and $1.50 for each item over 10 due at contract signing. This deposit will be applied to your total commissions if they exceed $1,500. Our commission percent at the moment is 25% of the total sales price. The consignment fee is there to pay for the time to appraise and list all items.
